Job Summary:   This position will be responsible for ensuring both process and project excellence and serve as the primary resource for procurement of all materials, supplies and services for the Greenwood site. This position will report to the Procurement and Logistics Manager.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Support facility operations through commodity management, procurement of all materials, supplies, MRO, major capital goods and services
  • Source identification and qualification, quoting, negotiation, order entry, order placement, expediting and processing return
  • Negotiates and/or administers purchase contracts for all supplies, materials or services
  • Negotiates long-term contracts with key suppliers to obtain effective prices, terms, products, and services
  • Establish and maintain solid working relationship with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Perform supplier audits, supplier selection and ongoing rating for the Greenwood site
  • Continually work with Procurement & Logistics Manager to assess market conditions which may affect procurement and offer updates and recommendations to Management
  • Manage database for all suppliers and ensure diversification of vendors for critical item supply
  • Monitor, analyze, and report material variances to standard cost
  • Interface with Accounting, Maintenance, Production and Management to establish standard costs
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years in a purchasing/procurement position (or equivalent) with increasing scope and responsibilities
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Internal/External Auditing experience preferred
  • Intermediate level skill in word processor and spreadsheet applications (SAP knowledge preferred)
  • Chemical/Fiber Manufacturing knowledge/skills is preferred
  • Verified excellent customer relations skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Proven ability to identify and implement continuous improvement areas, remain open minded and engaged on floor to identify improvement opportunities/areas
  • Desire to grow in position and take on challenging projects
  • Experience working with an international, culturally diverse team is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills
  • Exceptional technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English
