Job Title:            Logistics Coordinator


Job Summary:   This position will be responsible for inventory management, planning and coordinating transportation for the availability of raw materials, component parts, and finished goods to ensure that all materials are available to meet both the production plan and customer delivery requirements. This position will report to the Procurement and Logistics Manager.

  • Responsible for managing Receiving and Shipping Material Handlers
  • Responsible to coordinate moving raw, in-process materials to and from the warehouse/receiving areas and production floor
  • Responsible for short term storage of finished products and shipment to external warehouse
  • Perform routine data input related to inbound and outbound shipments and other relevant data into the proper software system
  • Create all required shipping documentation, including bill of lading and others
  • Manage inventory through planning availability of raw materials, component parts, and finished goods
  • Maintain SAP Master Data for components and finished goods
  • Provide production with schedules and support through proper supplier releases and forecasts
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through customer order management and appropriate monitoring of supply base
  • Work closely with Procurement & Logistics Manager, Production and external warehouse to coordinate all outbound shipments including finished products
  • Ensures that freight is delivered and serves as point of contact for all delivery issues
  • Works with international suppliers / freight forwarders through the review/creation of commercial invoices, freight terms, etc. to ensure customs compliance, including documents that are required from each supplier when sending material to US facility
  • Assists Manager to maintain logistics reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis
  • Maintains proper guidelines for document storage per US Customs record retention policies
  • Responds to all inquiries for transit times and cost quotes
  • Coordinates with external warehouse logistics, and helps manage internal capacity and the transfer of finished product to off-site location
  • Manages returns process for Greenwood site finished materials delivered to customer
  • Work with Quality on disposition of Retain samples
  • Ensure Work Instructions related to Receiving and Shipping are updated and in compliance
  • Preform Audits of paperwork, forms and Preform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Document Weekend coverage to ensure production has required materials and available storage
  • Coordinate vacation back up to Receiving and Shipping Material Handlers, ensuring SOX compliance
  • Manage ASN from Transportation companies, ensuring OTD
  • Escalate any Delivery, Quality, Service issues in timely manner
  • Manage Storage and Shipment for each waste stream, ensuring HazMat compliance
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of logistics experience in Manufacturing Industry (global logistics experience preferred)
  • Internal/External Auditing experience preferred
  • Forklift driver’s certification (current) and 2+ years of experience operating forklift in warehouse or manufacturing facility utilizing a computerized inventory control system preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Capability to contribute to design of ERP system, and ability to participate in Acceptance Testing, making constructive improvements through identifying gaps during testing
  • Proven ability to identify and implement continuous improvement areas, remain open minded and engage on floor to identify improvement opportunities/areas
  • Desire to grow in position and take on challenging projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with an international, culturally diverse team is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills
  • Self Motivated and able to motivate team in positive manner

  • Fluent in English
  • HazMat Certification preferred
