Process Engineer - CSP Manchester Plant

We are seeking a Process Engineer for our Metal Stamping Plant in Manchester, Michigan.

Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes.  Create and monitor the Asset Request process at CSP Stamping Plant.  Assist in new model launch activities along with upfront part activities.  Coordinate and manage projects with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use CAD software for accurate estimating. 

  • Work with CAD Technician to update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the tooling engineers, project managers, customers, or vendors.

  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation where needed.

  • Consult with clients, customers, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates.

  • Prepare quote forms to submit customer pricing. 

  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors and/or subcontractors.

  • Monitors manufacturing process effectiveness.

  • Assist with designs and development of equipment.

  • Procures quotes and equipment from third parties.

  • Develops and maintains plant layouts, floor space requirements, and equipment capacity.

  • Participates in and leads continual improvement activities or projects.

  • Use Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) for creating and maintaining Engineering documents.

  • Flexible to travel to customers and suppliers as needed.

  • Performs all duties in a professional, ethical, and legal manner.

  • Develops and implements manufacturing processes or improvements.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following 5S, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Know, understand, utilize and follow IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures.

  • Attention to details related to customer specific requirements.

  • Support continual improvement initiatives and look for continuous improvement ideas.

  • Supports and exemplifies corporate values and commitment to quality, optimism, ownership, teamwork, and communication.


  • Bachelor of Science in engineering is preferred.

  • Three years of experience in automotive metal stamping or manufacturing is required.  

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances.

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 Technical Specification.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Computer skills, including knowledge of CAD.

  • Good project planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
