We are seeking a Process Engineer for our Van Wert, OH Plant.

Position Summary:
The Process Engineer is expected to participate in the engineering and quality activities pertinent to the manufacture of quality SMC. The Engineer supports plant processes with troubleshooting of equipment and methods. The Engineer leads the installation, testing and implementation of new equipment and processes. The Engineer collects and analyses data from plant processes to support production, quality, engineering and continuous improvement projects. The Engineer leads projects as required. The Process Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support existing products and processes, product launches.
  • Develop and maintain: Process Flow Diagrams, Process Control Plans, Process Failure and Effect Analysis (PFMEA), and Manufacturing Work Instructions.
  • Lead capital projects.
  • Troubleshooting of plant equipment and processes. 
  • Provide off-hours support as required.
  • Develop, document, and provide support for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality through layered process auditing and scrap reduction.
  • Work directly with maintenance personnel for troubleshooting and support.
  • Train production personnel in the operation of equipment and processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete projects assigned to the position under your own direction, but with adequate supervision.
  • Follow safety rules of the Company and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.

  • Demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.

  • Meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of the company.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or an Engineering Technology discipline.
  • Three years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and Microsoft Office skills.
