We are seeking a Materials Manager for our Carey, Ohio Plant.

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility will be to oversee materials control functions, purchasing, and customer service to ensure materials are procured to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Work with Production and Operations Managers to develop production plan and forecasts.
  • Develop sales forecasts and adjusts when release information indicates changes.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments and conducts cycle counting.
  • Completes departmental performance appraisals.
  • Determines departmental practices and procedures following CSP guidelines.
  • Approves departmental expenses and appropriation requests.
  • Maintain departmental “KOP’s”.
  • Supports plant safety rules, UAW contract and CSP procedures.
  • Directs customer service functions.
  • Meet departmental budgets and continuous improvement.
  • Directs plant purchasing functions.
  • Manage safety as an equal to other key functions.
  • Monitor departmental action items to ensure timely and effective correction of issues.
  • Hold supervision and employees accountable for safety activities.
  • Support safety training and ensure personnel are in attendance.
  • Know details of all injuries and of corrective actions taken.
  • Conduct effective management safety evaluations.
  • Oversee changes in BOM, in conjunction with Engineering.
  • Oversee/maintain production scanning.
  • Monitor obsolete products and assist sales to remove from inventory.
  • Lead by example.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years automotive manufacturing experience with materials management processes and systems.
  • Experience with FCA production and materials.
