We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Van Wert, OH Facility.

Overview:
Maintains, test and repairs mechanical, electrical/electronic systems and components. Applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.  Requires experience in troubleshooting, all facets of production equipment in a maintenance environment.  Ability to assist and direct outside contractors and vendors in maintaining and troubleshooting all capital equipment.  Flexible work habits complement this individual in a high demanding area.  Requirements include supporting the production requirement as needed including scheduled overtime of production and maintenance.

Primary Duties:

  • Installs, start-up and shutdown equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and in line with OSHA requirements.

  • Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting, perform preventative maintenance and maintain appropriate records. 

  • Participates in the planning, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, production equipment, facilities and related electronic controls and devices.

  • Maintain all plant production equipment, emergency lighting, fire protection and plant facilities.

  • Perform all planned preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.

  • Assist production during product change over.

  • Complete all maintenance work order and project assignments.

  • Assist outside contractor during project work.

  • Fill out and complete all paperwork related to maintenance projects or work orders.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma is required or an Associate’s degree in technology is preferred.

  • Two years of experience in manufacturing operation.

  • Knowledgeable with the ability to perform maintenance and troubleshoot in the following areas, blueprint reading, welding and cutting structural fabrications using tig, mig and arc, electrical and basic electronic components, hydraulics, pneumatics theory, principals, schematics and basic mechanical physics of machines.

  • Safety knowledge or training in the following areas is a must fire prevention, weld safety, hazardous material storage, high pressure steam, confine space entry, lockout/tagout and all hazards associated with working in a manufacturing environment.  

  • Capable of machining and fabrication from concept drawings to completed project using all associate equipment and tools.
