We are seeking a Facilities Development Technician for our Advance Engineering Team based in Auburn Hills, MI.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Molds, Move from storage, install and check or adjust molds properly in presses.
  • Prepare molds for trials including cleaning, pre-heat, or mold release.
  • Facilitate any shipping/receiving related to and equipment with suppliers.
  • Thermarator’s, ability to operate thermolators (or any future steam heating system, oil heaters etc.)…and ensure molds are brought up to prescribed temperatures prior to development trials.
  • Press, Operate and adjust all parameters for all presses as prescribed for trials.
  • Equipment and development trial support, Responsible for equipment preparation and readiness of all development trials.  
  • Able to operate all equipment for any trials (new PU equipment, program robots as necessary.
  • Material Handling/Packaging/Shipping, load/unload/storage/control inventory for material deliveries and shipments.
  • Facilitate/Maintain a plan and schedule for equipment, Maintain and update a weekly trial plan matrix and communicate to development team for scheduling of trials.
  • Mold, Press and Equipment Maintenance, Manage maintenance necessary and related documentation, issue POs as necessary to facilitate and direct any equipment or tooling maintenance with outside suppliers.
  • Assume all general shop responsibilities such as fork truck or trial runs.
  • Assists with direction of outside contractors on capital projects and ensure on-time completion and within budget.
  • Assists with installation and construction/renovation projects for manufacturing process equipment and facility infrastructure.  
  • May expedite repairs to process equipment/facility. 
  • Performs testing, data gathering, measurements, or engineering analysis in an office, laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Under the direction of a Senior of Principal Engineer, performs engineering support on complex projects or technical assignments in conjunction with more experienced engineers.  May design tests or experiments to support project targets.
  • Demonstrates increasing knowledge and capability as engineering experience increases.


  • Requires an Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or active student status in an accredited Engineering program.
  •  Previous internship, work experience, or knowledge of facilities, maintenance or industrial engineering desired.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
